ghost

In “Ghost,’ the artist wears an 1868 era day dress made from “woodland” camouflage fabric and strolls through the park, simply “blending in.” The use of the military camouflage and literal blending is meant to provoke reflection on themes of conformity and loss of self. More specifically, the juxtaposition of a period dress which constricts movement with a modern military pattern designed for fighting creates a visual contradiction allowing for a play and blending of dichotomies: masculine/feminine, active/passive, hard/soft, but which is she really?
